Let me start by thanking the previous board for all the good they have done for the association. Without their hard work and dedication this would not have been possible. 

Secondly, I would like to thank all the members for the opportunity to serve you as the President of the Anglo-Indian Association of Canada. I promise to do my best every day I represent this association.

I am also grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the following members of the board. They are a fabulous team, and they work very hard to ensure our members are taken care of. I am looking forward to joining in their efforts.

**Sherene Antony** – Secretary (always keeps me in check)

**Althea DeSouza** – Director of Communication (always challenges me and has lots of questions and makes me think twice)

**Marguerite St. Romain** – Director of Senior Social Events (I strive to be as organized as Marguerite)

**Maria Kerver** – Treasurer (It’s hard for me to keep up―she is so fast and good at what she does)

**Sylvia Remedios** – Director Special Events and tours director (works very hard and always wants to be close to perfect, which is a great quality)

**Gillian Barbosa** – Director of Youth (always has a smile and ready to help)

**Following are three buckets on which we will focus:**

- Ensure our senior members are given the utmost respect and have the best time of their lives.
- Grow the membership organically.
- Encourage our youth, share positive stories, and make this an association they are proud of and toward which they feel a sense of belonging. 

I would love to encourage all members to share your feedback/suggestions so that we can serve you better. My humble request is please send us your feedback in a positive fashion and don’t be offended if we do not implement it right away. As you all can appreciate, it’s not possible to please everyone. 

**Events:**

In a short while we’ve managed to plan and execute on the following events:

- Community Event – (super successful in our opinion, and judging from feedback received)
- Picnic – (great turnout)
- Anglo-Indian Day Dance – August 10th 
- On the Agenda
  - All Inclusive trip to Punta Cana
  - Casino Bus Trip 
- Community Events coming up
  - Christmas dance on December 26th – Flagship event
  - New Year’s Eve dance on the 31st
  - More to come.

As always, I mention again, these events are planned with you in mind. The board and I would love to work harder but we need to see you engaged and participating. With that I will leave you with the following quote:

President's Report from The Mosaic

Dear Members,

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

Your donations in helping the underprivileged Anglo-Indians in India deserve a million thanks. When the deadly surge of COVID-19, then the Delta Variant and now Omicron struck India, people were dying without oxygen, hospitals were overflowing with very sick patients, many people lost their jobs or had to stay home to take care of the ones suffering, and many went without food; and YOU responded.

Your generous response is yet another outstanding commitment to the wellbeing of the underprivileged Anglo-Indians in India. Because of you, doors were opened to those deserving people experiencing financial hardship (rent, food, medicines, etc.).

We began this fund-raising effort in June and by year's end, raised $5,390.00. This amount includes $500.00 from The Anglo-Indian Association of Canada, the Annual Golf Tournament, donations from many of you, and monies from the monthly Share The Wealth and Bingo winnings. A total amount of $4,000.00 has been distributed to Fr. David Francis who takes care of Hyderabad, Pune, and Vizagapatnam; Ursula Fosberry, President of The Anglo-Indian Guild, in Bangalore; and Harry Maclure, Anglo's In The Wind, in Chennai.

The remaining balance of $1,390.00 will be distributed shortly. We have started the year with a very generous donation of $500 from one of our members and look forward to your continued support and generosity as their hardships and needs have not ended.

Your continued contribution to this cause is urgently required, even the littlest amount means a lot. Please share what you can spare for those less fortunate Anglo-Indians deserving of your help. Just a few dollars can go a long way to supply them with the bare necessities of life

The funds that have been distributed have been acknowledged by the recipients and received with much gratitude. I attach to this letter some of the acknowledgments and heart-wrenching thank-you notes.

COVID-19 Relief Donations To India

Congratulations to The Anglo-Indian Association of Canada for reaching its 25th and Silver Anniversary this year which began on March 23, 1996.

To celebrate our 25th Anniversary, we are ready to celebrate the launch of our new, improved and updated website, a destination where Anglo-Indians can experience the best of the community under the banner of  The Anglo-Indian Association of Canada.

We also plan to have a dance once we can all get together, and celebrate in style, the 25 years of the life of our Association.

The Anglo-Indian Association of Canada is a Not-For-Profit Organization founded in Toronto through grassroots actions by our enterprising and aspiring Anglo-Indians whose vision and dedication in the late sixties, resulted in the birth of this Association. As our community continued to grow and evolve, The Anglo-Indian Association of Canada has stood steady and together, while it kept moving forward.

The Anglo-Indian Association of Canada proudly continues to provide excellent communication and service. Our commitments to providing this service, allow us to establish unique relationships with you, our members, who are the main reason why we exist.

I am extremely proud to acknowledge and grateful that from this Association’s inception, we have thrived because we have had dedicated Boards of Directors and enthusiastic volunteers who work endlessly to serve our community.

CONGRATULATIONS on our 25th Anniversary, to each and every member, both past and present. You have been and are a significant part of this Association, and one cannot imagine our Association without you. Your steadfast faith and dedication to this Association are much appreciated.

Dear Members,

The Board of Directors of The Anglo-Indian Association of Canada is very pleased to announce that we have appointed Elaine Francis to the position of "Board Secretary" and William (Willie) Soraine to the position of "Social Director". You will remember William, as he was our Social Director a few years ago. It is so encouraging that we have members like William who come back to offer their support.

Please welcome Elaine and William and hopefully we will meet them in person when this pandemic is finally over. However for now, you can meet them at our Zoom events.
